I am learning to predict and to discuss the setting, and characters and to identify compound words.

Recount Writing

I am learning to write a recount about my experiences:

• sequence my ideas
• add details
• use capital letters and fullstops
• use time words e.g. first, later, next, after that,  etc.

Counting Money and Giving Change

I am learning to recognise the value of NZ coins, to add, total and give change




It was a bit easy then it was hard.

Sentence Beginnings and Endings

I am learning to retell the main parts of a story accurately

 

I could do it but I had to check it carefully.  I needed some help.

Fun at ESOL

I enjoyed going to ESOL.  I liked making my gingerbread man.

I have been learning to observe and compare the works of other artists and to create my own art work using geometric shapes.

To be successful I needed to look at the works of Klee, Matisse and Kandinsky  and cut a range of shapes in different sizes and place them carefully to create my own masterpiece.

I am learning to identify, name and sort a range of 2D shapes according to their attributes: (number of sides, corners, parallel lines, curves, size and shape etc)

Describing a Storm

I am learning to describe a storm using my senses.

To be successful I will choose interesting words to describe what I can see, hear and feel during a storm.

We have been participating in the Youthtown Sports programme where we have been learning to work in a team.

Adding Numbers

I am learning that numbers can look different but they can still equal the same amount.

“I have 1 in the top and 7 on the bottom.  This means that that I have 8.”

Swimming

I have been learning to swim with my head in the water.  It was a bit tricky but I am practising.

My Family

My family is from China. There are 4 people in my family.  We like to have picnics.  We like to watch movies. Edwin March 2016

For writing I am writing about my family.  I have been learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places. 

I liked writing about my family but  I found it a bit tricky to remember to use full stops at the end of my sentence.
